چکیده
UNLABELLED We present a rare complex variation of the inferior vena cava and internal iliac veins demonstrated by a multidetector computed tomography. It was shown that patient had double inferior vena cava with azygos continuation of the right inferior vena cava, retroaortic left renal vein and the left and right internal iliac veins converged and drained to the right external iliac vein through a common trunk. These variations of the inferior vena cava and iliac veins are important in the retroperitoneal surgery. We present multidetector computed tomography findings of this complex variation (Fig. 3, Ref. 12). KEYWORDS double inferior vena cava, azygos continuation, retroaortic left renal vein, iliac vein variation, multidetector computed tomography.

Posterior Nutcracker Syndrome Associated with Interrupted Left Inferior Vena Cava with Azygos Continuation and Retroaortic Right Renal Vein
Various anatomic anomalies have been considered the causes of nutcracker syndrome (NCS). Posterior NCS refers to the condition, in which vascular narrowing was secondary to the compression of the retroaortic left renal vein while it is crossing between the aorta and the vertebral column. Here, we report an unusual case of posterior NCS associated with a complicated malformation of the interrupt...
متن کاملInferior Vena Cava Duplication: Incidental Case in a Young Woman
A case of a double inferior vena cava (IVC) with retroaortic left renal vein, azygos continuation of the IVC, and presence of the hepatic portion of the IVC drained into the right renal vein is reported and the embryologic, clinical, and radiological significance is discussed. The diagnosis is suggested by multidetector computed tomography (MDCT), which reveals the aberrant vascular structures....
متن کاملComputed tomography manifestations of common inferior vena cava dysplasia and its clinical significance
This study aimed to review and analyse the computed tomography (CT) imaging results of frequently encountered developmental anomalies of the inferior vena cava (IVC). The underlying clinical significance was evaluated with reference to the relevant literature. CT images of patients who received abdominal or thoracic scanning between July 2009 and September 2011 were reviewed. Developmental anom...

متن کاملA rare presentation of the double inferior vena cava with an anomalous retrocaval right ureter: embryogenesis and clinical implications.
On dissection of the abdomen of an adult male cadaver, in addition to the normal inferior vena cava on the right side, an unusual venous channel which connected the left renal vein with the left common iliac vein was found; (probably the left inferior vena cava). The left testicular and the left suprarenal veins were opening into the left renal vein as usual. Other than this, a retrocaval urete...
